Pirates of the Amazon
Pirates of the Amazon es un plugin para Firefox que probablemente cause todo tipo de reacciones y marque un antes y un después en las descargar/compartir archivos en internet. Una vez instalado te pone un enlace para descargar, desde The Pirate Bay, cualquier el producto que estás viendo en Amazon.com. Funciona con música, DVDS de películas, juegos, libros y basicamente cualquier cosa que pueda ser convertido a formato digital.
De acuerdo a los desarrolladores, esto es un proyecto artístico y una forma de crear una contraparte al modelo actual de distribución y para “redistribuir las riquezas”. Aseguran que no tienen ninguna relación con The Pirate Bay y no hospedan contenido ilegal.
Ya existían varios plugins (usando Greasemonkey) para hacer cosas similares con IMDb, Last.fm o Rotten Tomatoes, pero este sería el primero en forma de addon y que usa la tienda online más grande del mundo.
